Privacy

A straightforward approach to privacy.

What this site loads, what is optional, and how to stay in control.

The short version

You can read this site without agreeing to analytics. There is no account, newsletter signup, or contact form. This is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages.

Optional Google Analytics

When Google Analytics 4 is configured, a preference notice lets you accept or decline it. No Google Analytics script or request is sent before you opt in. Your preference is stored in your browser’s local storage under clungu-analytics-consent. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page.

If you accept, Google Analytics collects usage information such as page views, browser and device information, and referral information, and may set first-party _ga cookies. Google processes that information under its privacy policy. Advertising signals and advertising personalisation are disabled by this site’s integration.

Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice. Declining stops this integration from collecting further analytics and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies. It does not delete information already sent to Google. Browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not tracked by this integration.

If analytics is not configured, there is no preference notice or analytics storage.

Technical articles and external services

Mathematical notation is rendered by MathJax, loaded from jsDelivr on articles with maths enabled. A legacy interactive article also loads jQuery from Google’s CDN. These services receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, when their resources load.

Comments load from Utterances and GitHub only after you choose Load comments. A GitHub account is needed to comment. Some older articles contain external images or embedded content, which may connect to their respective providers when you read them.

GitHub Pages may process technical request information to operate this website. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
